5engineering was first envisioned on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) 2011 by cofounders Elizabeth Parent and Kelly Humphries. Liz and Kelly have created an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and growth. The “5” in 5engineering is in honor of the creation day of the company, Cinco de Mayo (May 5th). The firm began as a specialty Hydrology and Hydraulics firm and branched into water and wastewater services in 2013. In 2016, the firm added coastal and navigation engineering services. 5engineering plans to continue growth in the field of water resources engineering, while maintaining the same unique work environment that sets 5engineering apart from other companies. As we grow, we will continue to invest in state of the art engineering software and technology to meet the needs of our ever growing client base.

They strive to better themselves and are committed to making 5engineering a better place to work. 5engineering’s close work environment enables employees to receive needed training and attention. 5engineering is more than a company. It’s our family. 5engineering is also very involved in community outreach, several of our staff have participated on the board, committees, and as volunteers for Houston Engineers Week. We are charter members of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, active in the Society of American Military Engineers, WEAT, AWWA, and ACEC. In addition, our employees volunteer as mentors to young engineers and high school students.
