WHAT WE OFFER

5engineering offers a full suite of water resource engineering services. We cover major disciplines such as water works, wastewater, stormwater, coastal engineering, and infrastructure management. We have several Certified Floodplain Managers (CFM), Project Management Professionals (PMP), and Envision Sustainability Professionals (ENV SP) that bring additional skills and viewpoints to any project.

Stormwater

Our group of highly educated and vastly experienced stormwater engineers can assist in every project that you have. Stormwater projects are the nuts and bolts that have built our company’s reputation. 5engineering has worked with clients in both the private and public sector to figure out some of the most challenging flood control issues in the Houston area. This includes regional drainage studies, channel widening, detention storage systems, large scale storm sewer studies, highway drainage design, flood modeling, etc. With anticipated changes to the region’s average rainfall estimates, we are prepared to help you understand the implications and find the best solution to your projects.

Wastewater

Wastewater is a important core area of water resource engineering that we provide to our clients. 5engineering believes in the design of high quality and best cost solutions which we pass on to our clients. Our wastewater engineers are a growing and highly experienced group of individuals that are well known in the wastewater community.

Water Works

It is our goal at 5engineering to deliver solutions that help our client’s do their job better. We know working in water demands a high level of skill and dedication. Our highly skilled engineers are available for all your water infrastructure, planning, and modeling needs. 5engineering will work toward the best, most cost-effective solution for your Water Works challenges.

Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure

5engineering helps clients identify, plan, and design more resilient and sustainable infrastructure projects by leveraging our experience and knowledge of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s (ISI’s) Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Framework (Envision).

5e became a charter member of ISI and an Envision Qualified Company in 2013. Since that time 5e staff became Envision Sustainability Professionals (ENV SPs), Envision Trainers, and Envision Verifiers. We conduct preliminary project assessments to evaluate the project outcomes relative to Envision requirements; our team provides in-person and virtual ENV SP credentialing training (since 2019 we’ve trained over 300 people); and our team helps clients pursue Envision Verification.

Our team leverages Envision to help clients enhance the social, environmental, and economic (triple bottom line) outcomes of their projects. Our team uses our flood risk, housing, climate, extreme heat, and sustainability knowledge to increase the resilience of projects.

Infrastructure Management & GIS

5engineering invests in the capability to perform comprehensive asset management for its clients as well as complex spatial/geodetic analysis. With a suit of several tools to perform spatial analysis, 5engineering can manage client assets using databases while performing analysis of spatial problems. Additional programming using Python and Arcpy can be added to perform customized analysis with ease. Further integration of water resource engineering with geospatial services is the next leap into the future and at 5engineering we want to stay ahead of the curve.

Coastal Engineering

Coastal engineering is the newest discipline added to 5engineering. We can assess a wide variety of specialties including hydrodynamics and sediment transport, fluid dynamics, channel deepening and widening, beach stabilization and renourishment, coastal structures, wave impacts and storm surge. Our coastal discipline has 15 years of experience solving coastal engineering problems. We look forward to solving all your coastal needs.
